Why Shred?
Shredding sensitive information is the most cost effective, immediate and secure way to ensure confidentially of your business documents. Too often, sensitive items are left around, either to be thrown away or waiting to be fed through the dusty office shredding machine -- a bothersome three-sheet-at-a-time process that requires too much time, clean up, and removal.
With the ShredWerks service, you can depend on timely retrieval and secure, easy disposal and destruction of your documents. ShredWerks installs a collection console or consoles at your office location. Clients simply place documents in the locked, protected console without needing to worry about removing bindings, staples, paper clips, Cirlox-binding, or report covers (Unfortunately, we would ask that you remove binders.).
ShredWerks sends an on-site mobile document destruction truck to your location at the time of scheduled service. Frequency is determined by your usage needs (how long it takes your office to fill your collection container(s)). The service interval can be anywhere from daily right up to once every eight weeks. You can change your service interval after any service call. Just call the office and ask us to come by more frequently or less frequently.
Our bonded and uniformed operator will open the secure containers with our "no touch, no see" technology to transfer your documents to the shredding truck for destruction. Once complete destruction is achieved, the operator provides you with a certificate of destruction, so you have a record of when and where your documents have been destroyed.
Upon leaving your site, the ShredWerks vehicle continues to collect and destroy items from its clients, compacting the small, shredded particles in the shred compartment of the truck. Once the truck returns to our facility, shredded matter is transferred to a baling machine that constructs 1,500-pound "bales" of a paper - much like a hay bale or a sugar cube. The bales are transported to a paper mill and added to a large vat of solution that removes ink from paper. Contaminants rise to the top or sink to the bottom of the solution to be skimmed away and recycled. The paper is then ready to be re-manufactured into a wide range of paper products such as boxboard, packaging, cardboard, roofing shingles, and recycled tissue and hand towels.
Each year ShredWerks shreds and recycles many tons of material and sends the particles to be re-manufactured.
